Membership Levels

Membership for the Iowa Nurse Practitioner Society consists of Regular and Two-Year, Student, Joint and Associate members.

  • CAREER STARTER members shall be open to those who are in their first year of licensure as ARNPs. Career Starter members are considered "Regular" members for all membership privileges. This type of membership may only be used once and only within the first year of becoming licensed as a nurse practitioner.
  • REGULAR AND TWO-YEAR members shall be open to those registered as ARNPs by the state licensing body. Regular and Two-Year members shall pay dues, may vote, hold elected or appointed office and serve on committees.
  • STUDENT members shall be open to anyone enrolled in a program that prepares students to become ARNPs. This category is not available to students who are already an ARNP. Student members may serve on committees but may not vote or serve as officers of INPS. This type of membership requires you to provide a valid student email address.
  • JOINT members are those ARNPs who are Full members of Iowa Association of Nurse Practitioners. Joint members may serve on committees, but may not vote or serve as officers of INPS. Joint members must prove membership in the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP).
  • ASSOCIATE members are other health care providers who may wish to promote the mission of the organization. Associate members may serve on committees but may not vote or serve as officers of INPS.

In addition, for those who are aged 65 and older, there is a discount for 50% off membership fees. Please use coupon code WISENP when you apply or renew. Members who are aged 65 and older also receive a discount for 25% off registration fees for our annual conference. Directions are given during registration.

Tax Information
INPS membership dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution for U.S. federal income tax purposes but may be deductible as a business expense. INPS estimates that 20 percent of your dues are not deductible because of INPS lobbying activities on behalf of its members. INPS membership dues are non-refundable.
