Iowa Nurse Practitioner Society
INPS Health Affairs Committee

The committee is members of INPS who monitor health policy issues in the Iowa Legislature.  The committee is the INPS Chair, INPHAC Chair, INPS President, the  Past or president Elect, representative of ACNP and AANP, a  DNP student and a member at large.  The purpose of this committee is to be a connection for our members to the current health policy issues through the web-site, eAlerts and personal connection.

Iowa Nurse Practitioner Health Affairs Committee (INPHAC)

The committee (formally the Legislative Committee) is comprised of the INPS Chair of INPHAC, INPS president, past or president elect, a member of the Iowa College of Nurse Mid Wives (ICNMW)  and the Iowa Association of Nurse Practitioners (IANP)* members.    We share the costs and expertise of our lobbyist, Joe Kelly for legislative updates, current bills, legislative connections and registration of our position on bills that affect NPs.   The committee meets monthly or more frequently during the legislative session from January to April. This may be face-to-face or through phone conference.

Iowa Alliance of Advance Practice Nurses

This committee is representative of all Iowa nurse practitioner organizations, INPS, IANP, ICNMW, IANA (Iowa Association of Nurse Anesthetists) and the Iowa Nurses Association (INA.).   The group meets face-to-face annually to review health policy issues that affect nurse practitioners.

*IANP is a chapter of NAPNAP. Please visit their website at www.IANP.org
