The UIHC Presurgical Evaluation Clinic has one full-time (100%) opening for an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to perform pre-operative/pre-anesthesia assessments for patients scheduled for surgery in the UIHC.  This position will assist in the education of resident physicians, medical students, and nurse anesthesia students as they rotate through the clinic. Will also assist in research endeavors related to the pre-op/pre-anesthesia assessments and will participate in continuing education and training in the field of Anesthesia.  Under the direction of a board-certified anesthesiologist, the ARNP will exercise autonomy in medical decision-making and services provided.  A Masters Degree in Nursing or related field is required; if Masters Degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.  Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license in Iowa, and current license to practice Nursing in Iowa are required.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.  Demonstrated experience in area of clinical practice is required.  The University of Iowa is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.  Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.  To apply for this position, go to http://jobs.uiowa.edu.  The position is listed under Requisition #58713.  Initial screening of applications begins immediately.
